The gulf between Intercontinental Cup and Shield sides was there for all to see when Scotland met Uganda in the second of their 20/20 fixtures in the Kenya T-20 Tri-Series at Nairobi Gymkhana today.

Scotland posted a gettable 163 for 4, but Uganda succumbed to concerted pressure to scrape to just 107 for 9 off their 20 overs.

The two sides had tied on 109 apiece in their previous match on Sunday before Scotland gained victory through a super-over.

Three sixes each today from Kyle Coetzer and Fraser Watts -following three fours off successive balls by Ryan Watson off Ugandan opening bowler Charles Waiswa -set the tone for Scotland's innings.

The second wicket pair put on 130 runs, taking the score from 23 for 1 to 153 at which point Watts was caught by Waiswa juggling the ball at square leg off Asadu Seiga.

Coetzer was then caught on the deep square boundary by Raymond Otim off Davis Arinaitwe and Neil McCallum departed to a boundary catch at long-on by Seiga off the same bowler, Arinaitwe returned figures of two for 18 off three overs.

Dropped catches did not help Uganda's cause as the Africans left the field discouraged by their all-round performance..

And they soon had to abandon any hope of reaching the 164 target when they found themselves three down with only 10 runs on the board.

Only Akbar Baig with a controlled innings of 39 and Deusdedit Muhumuza (17) appeared to inspire confidence, although Frank Nsubuga hit about him with some vigour for 20.

There were two wickets apiece for Dewald Nel, Gordon Drummond and Majid Haq as Uganda struggled to cope with the stranglehold that Scotland applied.

Scotland will be expecting to face a tougher task tomorrow when they seek to revenge themselves on Kenya, who defeated them on Monday, in the last match of the Tri-Series.
