The Hills destroy Malahide
The Hills cruised to an extremely comfortable win over Malahide in ablustery but bright Milverton yesterday.
The groundstaff produced an excellent sporting pitch, but only The Hills were able to make use of it, with Malahide having a day they'd prefer to forget.
Having been put in by Malahide, Jeremy Bray, Mike Baumgart and Max Sorenson put the bowling to the sword, with Bray recording 106 before being smartly stumped by Fintan McAllister off the bowling of Jimmy Govan, leaving Baumgart (88 not out) & Sorenson (85 not out) to bat out the rest of the overs.
The only bowler whose figures were in any way reasonable was Govan, conceding a respectable 42 for 1 off 10 overs. In their 50 overs, The Hills amassed 325 for 2.
After tea, the Malahide batsmen had no answer to the pace of Sorenson, who took a wicket in his first over, and then cleaned up in a 3-over spell around drinks, finishing with 6 for 12.
For Malahide, only Adam Shehabeddin (20) and John Pryor (15) made many, and extras was the top scorer with 23. The match finished after 26.4 overs, with Malahide being bowled for 104.
