The Cricket Australia National Selection Panel (NSP) has announced the Australia one-day squad for the VB Tour of Ireland and England.
Commenting on the squads, NSP Chairman Andrew Hilditch said: “The Australia one-day squad continues to recognise the outstanding performances of the side in international cricket over the last 12 months. It is the same squad that won the ODI series in New Zealand earlier this year, except that Shaun Marsh has recovered from injury and returns to the side in place of Adam Voges.”
“Adam is very unlucky to miss selection having had only limited opportunities last season, but Shaun deserves to return to the side and he gives us very good options at the top of the order in one-day cricket.
“The squad also contains Steve Smith who continues to develop into a very exciting all-rounder in all forms of the game for Australia."
“Peter Siddle is recovering well from a lower back stress fracture sustained during the Australian summer. However it was felt that there was too big a risk for his to return for the tour of England and Ireland, particularly with the important 12 months coming up. Peter remains on target to return to the playing field at the start of the Australian domestic summer.
“Brett Lee is recovering from the elbow muscle injury that he picked before the ICC World Twenty20 and is yet to commence bowling.”
