Holders Limavady eased into the next round of the Faughan Valley Cup after a 7 wicket win against Coleraine.

After Richard McDaid had removed the in form Ian McGregor for just four, a superb spell of bowling from Ireland Under 19 international Stuart Thompson had Coleraine floundering.

Thompson dismissed Geoff Lockhart, Pakistan professional Mohammed Salman, and Peter Wallace in quick succession, to finish with the excellent analysis of 3 for 7.

JD Muller top scored with 20, while there were double figure contributions from Stephen Harper (13*) and Rodney Lockhart (10). Helped by 19 extras, Coleraine finished on 83 for 7 when the overs ran out.

In reply, Adam McDaid went for just a single, Dean Curry for 16, and with Richard McDaid run out for 5, there was a flicker of hope for the Bnnsiders at 38 for 3.

However Andrew Riddles (26*) and Stuart Thompson (24*) added an unbroken 46 stand for the fourth wiket as Limavady won with 5.3 overs and seven wickets to spare.

There was no play possible in the other scheduled Senior One tie between Bready and Fox Lodge - it will now be played next Thursday June 3rd.
