Donemana III's lifted the Intermediate "B" cup on Saturday evening after a thrilling two day final win over Bonds Glen seconds at Beechgrove.
The Bee Gees had batted first on Friday afternoon and posted 179 all out with Johnny Heaslett top scoring with 29. Ryan Nixon was the pick of the Holm side's attack claiming 4 for 47 and when they batted, Donemana's 234 for 5 secured them a 55 run advantage.
Stevie Britton's unbeaten 75 was an excellent effort and Paul Britton added 43 not out while Gordon Hill with 3 for 32 did best of Bonds Glen's bowlers.
The Bee Gees had to do something pretty useful if they were to set Donemana a decent target and they certainly did that as Jason Curry's 52 and Dee Dunn's 48 took them to 232 all out off the last ball of their 50 overs. Noel Dunn claimed 4 for 39 and Lee Britton 3 for 30 as Donemana then needed 178 to lift the cup.
The game swung one way then the other in the last innings however 33 from Noel Dunn that earned him the man of the match award helped Donemana to a nail biting 1 wicket win with just 3 balls to spare. William Moore with 3 wickets and 2 apiece from Dee Dunn and Ian Moore took the Bee Gees to within inches of a win in a final that was a terrific advertisement for the sport.
