Cricket Scotland Partner With Etihad
Cricket Scotland are delighted to announce that they are working with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE.
Etihad Airways will be the airline of choice for Cricket Scotland and wherever possible will fly the Scotland team and staff to their commitments around the world.
With the Scotland senior and youth teams travelling far more often around the globe the logistics associated with carrying the squad and their luggage are increasing all the time.
Cricket Scotland is also sending its best young cricketers to training camps and academies in the southern hemisphere and sub-continent each winter.
The relationship with Etihad Airways will enable Cricket Scotland to manage this process easily in association with the Etihad Elite division of the airline.
Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer Peter Baumgartner said: “Etihad Airways is delighted to be working with Cricket Scotland. The UK is an important market for us and our recent doubling of frequencies from Manchester Airport means we can now connect Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness with over 70 destinations throughout the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia and North America. We are delighted to be able to make a contribution to the future success of Cricket Scotland.”
Roddy Smith, Chief Executive of Cricket Scotland commented, ‘The logistics in running our national teams are always challenging so we are very pleased to have a relationship with Etihad Airways. With the Etihad network covering all the major cricketing destinations in the world, and being a new and innovative leader in their industry, working together is a very exciting for both Cricket Scotland and Etihad Airways."
