The Annual General Meeting of the Isle of Man Cricket Association was held last week.
Chairman Barry Smith reviewed an excellent year which included major advances in the junior development programme. The Under 19s had reached the final of the ICC Europe Division Two and the senior squad came third in Division Two, having lost only one game. Ground improvements continued and new equipment for clubs had been obtained.
Barry complimented secretary Sue Davidson on her organisation of the Under 19 tournament which had been held on the Island. He also thanked all clubs for their support and enthusiasm for the event.
The Special Needs sessions had been a great success and CDO Gareth Dawson was praised for his efforts in running these. More umpires were needed and Barry urged anybody interested to contact David Kenworthy.
Treasurer Neill Angus presented the Accounts which showed a satisfactory surplus. As a result affiliation subs for clubs would remain at 2011 levels.
CDO Gareth Dawson reported that the Island senior squad had been training all winter and will play in the ICC Europe Division Two to be held in Greece at the start of September. The Under 17s go to Denmark for their tournament and a junior development squad will tour England.
