Leinster moved to the top of the table following a comfortable six wicket win against Terenure at Observatory lane.

Ireland Under 19 international Hugh McDonnell ensured there was little difficulty in chasing down a modest Terenure total of 162, as he compiled a patient unbeaten 58 from 121 balls (4 fours).

He was given good support by Anton Scholtz (45) and Bajan professional Joel Leacock (35).

That completed a fine all-round performance from the impressive Leacock who blew away both the top order and the tail to claim the excellent analysis of 5 for 8 in 9.3 overs.

His victims included former Irish international Andre Botha who managed just a single.

Ken McDonald (37) and Daan Van Zyl (34) shared a 4th wicket stand of 73 but from 92-3, the innings faltered badly to end on 162 all out, with only Hoey (30) making any further significant addition.

In additon to Leacock, the other Leinster wicket takers were Law (1-33), Scholtz (1-17), and McDonnell (1-19).

It wasn't the happiest of days for new signing Stephen Moreton, who conceded 41 runs from 5 overs, and failed to score when batting.

Leinster have two wins from two, while Terenure remain winless, just above Clontarf at the foot of the table.
