Leinster Under 17's showed their greater experience when they survived an early batting scare to bounce back and inflict a crushing 149 run defeat on their Munster colleagues.
A disciplined bowling display by Munster, backed up by energetic and enthusiastic fielding, reduced Leinster to 96 for 7, and a potential shock looked very much on the cards.
However, Leinster's batting depth proved crucial, and contributions all down the order allowed them to recover to post 165.
Michael Hogan top scored with 38, while there were solid efforts from Darren Nichol (27), Jack Balbirnie (25), and skipper Tom Anders (20).
For Munster, the wicket takers were Hugh O'Brien (2-14), Brad Morgan (2-23), Conor Andrew (2-24), Saad Azhar (1-32) and Ru Jones (1-39).
Any thoughts Munster had of chasing down the total were quickly dispelled by an opening blitzkrieg from the Leinster pairing of James Smith and Shahrukh Ahmed.
Ahmed took 5 for 2, and Smith 5 for 3 as Munster buckled under the onslaught, collapsing to just 16 all out in 12 overs.
Despite the heavy defeat, Munster can look back proudly on their display in the field when they clearly had their more illustrious counterparts worried - if only for a short while.
