19 year old Irish international Graeme McCarter marked his senior debut with Gloucestershire by claiming 3 wickets to help his side defeat Middlesex by five wickets at Lord's.

McCarter dismissed Joe Denly, John Simpson and Steven Crook for figures of 3-41 from five overs, having seen his opening delivery hit for four by Denly.

Middlesex were restricted to 157-8, in a match reduced to 26 overs per side, with Irish international Paul Stirling scoring 25.

Hamish Marshall (33) and Benny Howell (45 not out) got the Gloucestershire reply off to a rapid start, and although they wobbled slightly, Glocs still had five wickets and 2.4 overs to spare when the winning runs were scored.

Gloucestershire will be relieved following their opening day defeat by The Netherlands by just a single run.
