Gale force winds and swirling rain caused the abandonment of the Under 17 interprovincial game at Bready between the NW and the combined Southern XI.

In a match reduced to 40 overs, the North Wesy scored 165 for 9, with home skipper Rishi Chopra top scoring with 60, which included six boundaries.

He was well supported by Jamie Millar (21), Jamie Magee (18) and Kevin Donaghey (10*).

Jack Balbirnie (3-29) was the most successful of the Southern XI attack, with the other wicket takers being Shahrukh Ahmed (2-14), Darren Nicol (2-16) and James Smith (1-26).

In reply the Southern XI had reached 11-0 off two overs when play was abandoned.
