Killyclooney managed their first win of the season against Burndennett in the Sperrin Springs Cup during the week but Richard McMorris's side was no match for Coleraine in this one.
The home team were indebted to an “old hand” to get their innings going; Ken Colhoun back at the top of an order that he led with distinction for many years and he showed he has lost none of his touch with a solid innings.
Colhoun hit 5 fours and a six in his 37 but unfortunately for Killyclooney the younger brigade were unable to keep pace and they were bowled out for 105. Chinthaka Jayasinghe with 3 and Scott Campbell and Rishi Chopra with 2 apiece were the main wicket-takers for the Bannsiders who obviously had a train to catch back to the coast.
Their reply took all of 10 overs as Scott Campbell and Ian McGregor hammered them out of their misery; Campbell with the slight edge in their buckle, 7 fours and 3 sixes in his 52 while his skipper hit 9 fours and a six in his 48.
Coleraine will face much more difficult days than this as the summer progresses but they have a look about them this year.
