Grosvenor have progressed to the semi-finals of the Ulster Bank Schools Cup with an emphatic win against Foyle and Londonderry College.
Batting first they scored 169 for 4 in their 30 overs, with North Down all-rounder Ally Shields top scoring with 56. Aaron Johnston batted well for his 49, while Neil Adams supplied the late impetus with a rapid fire 26.
In response Foyle were blown away by an opening burst from Shields (4-13), as they capitualted to a bitterly disappointing 53 all out.
David Allinson (3-9) and Peter Davison (2-10) were the other wicket takers in a thoroughly professional performance - not surprising given the involvement of Andrew White and Kyle McCallan on the Grosvenor coaching staff.
Summary Score:
Grosvenor 169-4 (30 overs, Alistair Shields 56, Aaron Johnston 49, Neil Adams 26*) beat Foyle and Londonderry College (53 all out, Alistair Shields 4-13, David Allinson 3-9, Peter Davison 2-10) by 116 runs.
