Dublin University went a long way to securing their Senior Two status for another season by recording a resounding 111 run win against Rush on Sunday.

Batting first the students racked up an impressive 201 for 3 with Richard Forrest playing the anchor role making an unbeaten 77 from 147 deliveries.

The real fireworks were provided by Amir Anwar who smashed an unbeaten 42 from just 23 balls to give the innings some late impetus. Eoghan Delany was also among the runs yet again - but this time with a modest 28.

In reply, Rush managed to make just 90, with only captain Lionel Jansen (29) making any meaningful contribution in a dire display of batting.

Conor Hoey has been among the wickets this season and yet again he produced the goods in an excellent spell claiming 4 for 25. Dhruv Kapoor (2-18) also picked up a couple as the students won at a canter.

Cork County suffered yet another wash-out as the miserable weather continued to wreak havoc in the Munster area.
