The Leinster Development XI slid to a 36 run defeat in the opening game of their tour of the North East.

Adam Couglan and Shane Getkate both picked up 3 wickets as NUSC were bowled out for 184 in 39.5 overs.

However in reply Leinster could only manage 148 with Tomas Murphy (40), Shane Getkate (37) and Barry McCarthy (19) the main contributors.
