The Leinster Development XI crashed to their second defeat in two days as they were beaten by 8 wickets by NUSC at Brandon.

Batting first only Barry McCarthy (18), Hugh McDonnell (16) and Tom Anders (14) managed to pass double figures as they scraped to a miserable 101 all out in 22 overs. Max Bailey (5-28) proved the destroyer-in-chief.

Gareth Purhouse then made a well manufactured 56, ably supported by Young (22) as the total was passed in just 21.3 overs. Dhruv Kapoor (1-9) and Adam Coughlan (1-18) were the only Leinster bowlers to make any inroads.

A day to forget for the Leinster youngsters but they will be hoping for better things in the days ahead.
