GSCA 2012 Junior Final won by Eastwood High School
Glasgow Schools' Cricket Association
The Glasgow Schools' Cricket Association Junior Final was won this year by Eastwood High School who defeated Shawlands Academy in the final at Shawholm (Poloc CC). Eastwood High won the toss and elected to bat.
Despite losing a couple of quick wickets, C James and R Bain steadied the ship with James top scoring on 40 not out. He was ably assisted at the crease by Bain who put on a commendable 38 in a lucrative partnership. After the allocated 20 overs the Eastwood High side had scored 104 for 7.
In reply, and with their two best players missing, the Shawlands Academy side had an uphill task and ended on 58 all out in the 14th over (L. James 3-9, A. Maqsood 2-9) with Eastwood High School winning the final comfortably by 46 runs.
