Burndennett and Bready finally resolved their Northern Bank senior cup tie after poor weather and that injury to Ian Young thwarted the two earlier attempts.

The Bready bowler remains in hospital following two operations but typical of Burndennett's sportsmanship the home players and supporters took up a collection among themselves and presented the visitors with £300 for the special fund that has been set up for Ian.

As for the game itself Burndennett batted first just as they had in the first match and once again Mark Doherty was among the runs at the top of the order with a steady 36. Conan Pollock top scored this time with 39 while Mark Porter 930) and John McGettigan (26) also contributed to a fighting total of 181.

David and Brian Scanlon both bowled well with the new ball but David Barr with 3 for 23 was the pick of the visitors' attack.

The cup holders didn't get it all their own way in the reply as Colin McGettigan (3 for 46) pinned them back before a match-winning 76 from Agha Sabir Ali got Bready over the line with 4 wickets to spare..
