The Hills cruised to a comprehensive 9 wicket win at Milverton against Clontarf as they made light work of a potentially tricky 208 run chase.

That target looked very far away when Nic Pretorious was bowled for 0 in the first over from Joe Morrissey, but amazingly that was to be the last success for the Castle Avenue side as Jonno Andrews and Mike Baumgart proved immoveable.

Baumgart blitzed an incredible 24 boundaries in his 139 not out (132 balls), sharing an unbroken 210 run second wicket stand with Jonno Andrews who anchired the innings with an undefeated 50 (121 balls, 2 fours, 1 six).

Earlier Bill Coghlan had top scored with 61 and Eoghan Delany had made 35 as Clontarf totalled 208 for 9.

Tomas Murphy continued his recent rich vein of form as he claimed another four wicket haul, while Andrews took 2 for 30.

In a congested table, both sides remain in contention for the title - or for pessimists at the clubs, dangerously close to the relegation zone!
