Ireland's Under 15 cricketers got their European campaign off to a winning start when they recorded a comprehensive win against hosts Guernsey on Sunday.
After winning the toss and batting the Irish were almost always in control having been given a solid start by Sonny Cott (34) and David Delany (11).
After Gary McClintock went for 16 with the total on 113, Jack Tector and Adam Dennison added 68 for the 4th wicket taking the game out of reach of Guernsey.
Tector made 80 from 81 balls (7 fours), while Dennison hit 3 boundaries in his 42.
William McClintock blasted 4 fours and 2 sixes in a 32 ball unbeaten 50, sharing in an unbroken 74 run stand with Aaron Gillespie (17*).
Ireland finished on 277 for 8 in 48 overs, which following rain interruptions meant Guernsey needed a DL target of 210 in 27 overs.
Ryan Harris (2-46) and Tom Veillard (2-49) were the pick of the Guernsey attack.
Veillard top scored for Guernsey with a patient 36, while Andy Oxburgh (29) and Will Fazakerly (10) were the only other players to reach double figures.
Lorcan Tucker got revenge for his first ball duck to claim 4 for 18, while the other wicket takers were Jack Tector (2-20), Gary McClintock (1-5), Rory Anders (1-8), William McBrine (1-11), and John Matchett (1-34).
Guernsey finished on 101 all out, leaving Ireland 108 run winners.
Ireland are back in action today when they face Jersey, while Guernsey take on Scotland.
