The first day of Ireland's scheduled four day game against South Africa A has been abandoned following heavy overnight rain in County Wicklow.
The outfield at the picturesque Oak Hill venue was left under water and the match offcials called off proceedings early this morning given that there was no prospect of play.
Trent Johnston has been withdrawn from the Ireland squad for the game and been replaced by Strabane left arm seamer Phil Eaglestone. The move is a precautionary one after Johnston received an injection in his knee last week. He is expected to play a full part in the rest of the games this month.
Play will hopefully get under way tomorrow at 11am and entry for spectators is free.
