Ireland's Under 17 girls team enjoyed a 3-1 series win against their Scottish counterparts this week to continue the recent run of good results by the ladies in 2012.
After a first day wash-out it was decided to play four T20 games over the next two days to give all members of the squads a run out.
The first match was a low scoring affair with Pia Diepman top scoring with 27 as the Irish managed just 73 all out - Kathryn Bryce claiming 3 for 18 for Scotland.
However a superb bowling display meant that was enough as Scotland were restricted to just 60-7, with Rebecca Branagan claiming 2 for 8.
The second game proved to be a real thriller with the hosts restoring parity in the series with a one run win.
Bryce again top scored as Scotland posted 107 for 6, which just was enough despite six Irish batters reaching double figures.
Clodagh Conway (19), Hannah Grieve (18), Sophie McMahon (17), Blathnaid Breslin (15), Pia Diepman (15), and Rebecca Branagan (10*) all got starts but were unable to see Ireland over the line as they made 106/7 - Bryce again the Scottish stand-out performer taking 3 for 25.
The 3rd game saw Ireland win by 6 wickets as Rhiannon Pope (3-14) and Clodagh Conway (2-17) restricted the Scots to 89/7.
Conway then hit an unbeaten 31 to seal the win with 9 balls to spare - Una Raymond-Hoey (16), Pia Diepman (13) and Sophie McMahon (12*) were the other contributors of note.
The final tie saw Ireland post the highest total of the series - 130/5 - as Hannah Grieve made an undefeated 46, with Clodagh Conway (27), Pia Diepman (19), and Sophie McMahon (14) chipping in. Kathryn Bryce (3-31) was yet again the most successful of the Scottish attack.
Bryce (28) ploughed a lonely furrow with the bat as the Scottish youngsters capitulated to 68 all out, leaving Ireland 62 run winners.
Una Raymond-Hoey bowled superbly to claim 3 for 15, while Aoife MacDonnell (2-5) also impressed.
