CARLTON were last night crowned T20 champions of Scotland after snuffing out the challenge of giant-killers East Kilbride.
The Edinburgh outfit triumphed by 19 runs in the final of the Murgitroyd Trophy at Poloc's Shawholm ground in Glasgow
Carlton had relied on some late big hitting by Stevie Gilmour to reach 152 for eight - but in spite of a bright start to their reply, the Torrance House men couldn't keep up the momentum and fell short by 19 runs.
Earlier, EK had thrashed Kelso in their semi showdown, while Carlton edged out Arbroath in a tense affair - reaching the target with only two balls left.
