Cricket Scotland has announced the Lions squad to face Durham 2XI for a three day match at Longhirst Hall starting tomorrow (28-30 August).

This will be the Lions penultimate fixture of their season before finishing off the schedule with a match against Northants (4-7 September).

Greenock’s Richie Berrington will captain the team with Preston Mommsen unavailable due to exam commitments. Watsonian captain Stuart Chalmers has been selected after leading his side to the Scottish Cup Final – setting up a tantalising affair with local rivals Heriot’s next Sunday.

Also included is Stoneywood Dyce all-rounder Michael Leask, along with leg-spinner, Moneeb Iqbal as the Lions look to recover after their defeat to Derbyshire 2XI earlier in the month.

Matthew Parker has been selected after returning from an injury that stopped him featuring for the Saltires in their final few 2012 Clydesdale Bank 40 fixtures.

Lions Squad in full:

Richie Berrington, Ryan Flannigan, Ewan Chalmers, Stuart Chalmers, Calum MacLeod, Moneeb Iqbal, Craig Wallace, Gordon Goudie, Michael Leask, Safyaan Sharif, Matthew Parker, Calvin Burnett
