Under grey skies Scotland got off to a galloping start hitting some imperious shots all around the park. Some great reverse sweeps from Munsey set up the day for some exciting batting.

Coetzer also showed his class before being caught at cover to a low catch for 17 off 8 balls.

Munsey kept up his aggressive batting regularly finding the boundary on his way to 75 from 43 balls before being trapped LBW to Perchard.

By the time he was out Scotland had passed 100 at around 10 per over and a huge score of 200 plus looked achievable especially as all the Scottish batsmen looked intent on attacking with every one of them attaining a strike rate of over 100.

The Jersey's bowlers stuck to their task and shared the wickets around and even managed to slow the run rate down for a while.

Mommsen's cameo late in the innings saw him muscle 29 from 15 balls. His innings included sixes out of the ground resulting in lost balls with Scotland closing their innings on 199 for 5.

Jersey started with a 6 off the third ball of their innings as Farley showed his intent right from the start.

Unfortunately his big hit brought the rain and conditions became difficult as it blew across the ground at quite a rate.

The umpires kept the players out and in the second over Sharif had Gough caught at mid-off for 9 and next ball he had Farley caught at cover to remove both openers with consecutive balls. He didn't get the hat-trick and at the end of the second over the umpires took the players from the field as the rain intensified.

Ironically, as soon as the covers were in place the rain stopped.

There was still a rain delay of 24 minutes. and Duckworth -Lewis came into play with five overs being dropped from the second innings and Jersey were set a revised target of 163 to win off 15 overs.

Another wicket to Sharif soon after the restart saw Bisson caught out going for the big hit required to keep Jersey in the hunt.

From then on it became a procession of Jersey batsman swinging hard and getting out.

Sharif claimed three wickets with a solid bowling performance from his three overs but Leask claimed the best figures with 3 for 10 from his three.

Berrington chipped in with two wickets in two balls, both caught at long on which left Jersey with a run rate of over 40 per over for the last three overs

A silly run out in the last over ended with both batsmen standing at the striker's end resulting in Kynman run out when Sharif dislodged the bails at the bowler's end.

Jersey ended their innings on 91/9 having being comprehensively crushed by Scotland who should enter the tournament proper on a high after two impressive performances in their warm up matches.
