An amazing fight-back by St Andrew's stunned CUS to claim Leinster Schools Cup.

Defending 195 CUS looked destined to claim the trophy as the Rush pair of Stephen Doheny (63) and Dean Brogan (39) shared a century stand.

However their dismissal sparked panic and a collapse as they were dismissed for 165 to lose by 29 runs.

Cameron Shoebridge and Aaron O'Neill took three wickets apiece, while Ben Crowley claimed 2 for 13.

The St Andrew's total of 194 for 9 was built around an excellent 69 from Pembroke's Sunil Gupta - form which could well see him playing for the Sydney Parade senior team this weekend.

Andrew Blair-White (30) and Stephen Keane (25) also made valuable contributions in what turned out to be a winning total.

St. Andrew's 194/9 40 overs (Sunil Gupta 69 Andrew Blair-White 30 Stephen Keane 25 Eoghan Connolly 2-17, Dean Brogan 2-22, Conor O'Gorman 2-42)

CUS 165 39.2 overs (Stephen Doheny 63 Dean Brogan 39 Ultan Doherty 12* Cameron Shoebridge 3-33, Aaron O'Neill 3-42, Ben Crowley 2-13)

St Andrew's beat CUS by 29 runs
