Gareth Delany's fine all-round display helped Leinster to a comfortable 77 run win over Railway Union in the Division One play-off match at YMCA.

Delany top scored with 52 as Leinster made 211 for 8, with good support from Hugh MacDonnell (40), and Pete Byrne (34).

Railway - without the holidaying Kevin O'Brien- never recovered from the early loss of the talismanic Kenny Carroll (4) and were dismissed for 134.

Delany followed up his half cnetury with 3 for 19, while there were two wickets apiece for Tim Law, Joe Carroll and Pete Byrne.

The win was all the more impressive given the absence of Irish international George Dockrell who was playing for Leicestershire Seconds - making 75 and taking 1 for 70.
