Ayr cricket club have announced that they have signed New Zealander Michael Papps as their Professional for this year.
Papps previously played for the club during the 2009 to 2011 seasons during which time he played 42 matches and scored 2727 runs.
In season 2010 he scored 1007 runs one of only four players to have achieved over 1000 runs in the history of the SNCL and in the same season was named as one of the New Zealand Cricket Almanac players of the year along with Shane Bond.
The former Kiwi international has played 8 Test matches and 6 ODI’s for his country and is still playing First Class cricket for Wellington in the Plunket Shield.
He will be joined at Ayr by Aussie Matt Crawshaw as their Overseas Amateur.
